The result of that drive is a revolutionary nonstick coating that uses real diamond crystals for maximum durability, highest release properties and optimum heat transfer. This patented technology was honored with the GOLD MEDAL at the International Inventor’s Fair in Geneva in 1999. History of
Swiss Diamond
The increased demand for premium cookware during the 1990's set in motion Swiss Diamond's research for an advanced nonstick coating. Initially, Swiss Diamond began searching for ways to improve their pre-existing titanium-reinforced coating. During that time, finely-ground titanium was considered the best choice for reinforcing nonstick cookware surfaces. However, Swiss Diamond soon realized that a different reinforcement material would bring additional advantages. The main criteria for improvement? Extreme hardness and excellent thermal conductivity, which led us straight to diamonds.
Swiss Diamond® cookware features a patented nonstick cooking surface reinforced with real diamond crystals. This unique coating makes for effortless food preparation and clean-up. If treated properly, the surface is extremely long-lasting - it will not peel, crack or blister. Plus, our products are completely free of potentially-harmful PFOA chemicals (certified by the Danish Testing Institute), providing additional ease of mind to your family.
The cookware's pressure-cast aluminum construction provides for uniform heat distribution with no hot spots or warping - even if the pan is placed under cold running water right off the stove. Each piece has a perfectly flat base for use on any ceramic, gas or electric cooktop (induction series also available.) The ergonomically-designed handles are well balanced and temperature safe up to 500°F (260°C), allowing you to finish cooking in the oven.
As with any nonstick cookware, we recommend using silicone or other nonstick-safe utensils, and hand-washing thoroughly with regular dish soap and a non-abrasive sponge. (While not recommended, Swiss Diamond® is somewhat resistant to the occasional use of other utensils, or dishwasher use.)
Swiss Diamond® products are also ecologically sustainable. In addition to having an extremely long lifetime expectancy - which greatly reduces landfill waste around the world - they are manufactured in part using hydropower from the Swiss Alps; plus, their aluminum bodies are recyclable!
